Yes we love the snow!! Just not to much of it lol

Kids are looking forward to snow and everything that goes with it. We have had a beautiful summer here with temps never getting over 100 and the humidity at a tolerable level. Two and Four legged have really enjoyed it!

But now we are bearing down for winter to come. The squirrels have been gathering walnuts in our yard for the last 2 months. I am sure they know something we don’t. I just hope we don’t get ice and all that bad stuff along with it.

We have been super busy with the older kids moving and the younger ones in school. Grandkids have been visiting a couple days a week so it has been super loud and fun. I think maybe our hearing is going slowly like our eye sight. Oh the joys of getting older

I am slowly getting this social networking started with our doggies. It does help to let people know who we are. I am not a big believer on publishing faces of the family etc. And on the websites I try hard to not publish personal information on our buyers. We do try very hard to stay in touch with people that purchase a puppy from us, not only for our rewards of knowing that the puppies are well taken care of. But if there are problems we can evalutate our breeding program much better with knowing how our puppies mature and grow.

It is our pleasure to raise these beautiful animals and we hope to physically be able to do this for many years to come. Who knows maybe one of our boys will want to take over for us or even get involved in the show arena with a bulldog, lab or even a labradoodle. Just have to see what the future holds.

I hope to add more video in the next week or so – so stay tuned.

Our twins will go to preschool on thursday this week and our older son will start on the 28th.

I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with our older son even if it is for a few mornings next week

Things are winding down with new bulldog babies arriving and it seems like the dust has settled so to speak. We are in one of our busiest times.

Our success seems to be echoed with other bulldog owners at this time also. It seems as though maybe something must have been in the water, haha

We are enjoying the puppies and of course the kiddo’s also do. Our older ones are just now 5 weeks old and this is the age where they are starting to show their little personalities and actually playing with us. They are very accustom to our voices (quiet and loud) and it is fun to see their reaction when they are around us verses the boys.

I have started some of the stimulation exercises noted on our website for handling puppies at an age of 3 days to 3 weeks, and to be honest it is not all that different then what we are normally doing at this age anyway. As for the holding the head up and then down this is often down when we are cleaning butts

Yes the puppies need to be wiped so that they are encouraged to poop and pee. It is important to their growth and health that this is done. And with a mama that stays with the puppies such as our lab mothers they are constantly licking and cleaning their newborns. The exercise that I probably have not given 100% is the toe rubbing. I am trying, it just seems to slip my mind when we are playing with them. I have noticed that on some days one may be very comfortable with laying on their back and then the next day they seem to fight it. At this age it is probably just because they are hungry when I do the exercise with them.

We still feel that for the puppies well being it is best to keep them in the incubator for the first week. Sometimes longer depending on the mama’s instincts. Thank goodness for most of these mama’s being very good at keeping their babies warm without laying on them accidentally. No casualties as of yet YEAH!!! Our average litter size right now is 5 so that is up from 4 last year. So things are improving or it is luck of the draw??

Heading out to spend some quality time with the babies, my boys are in bed. There are some good things about getting ready for school, back to routines and a little more free time in the evenings. Without being so dog tired, no pun intended

write more later, Beth

Richard and Beth Siess of Seneca Kansas

First of all a little about us and what we do. Richard and I have been married 29 years this May. We have always had family pets but recently when our 10 year old was about 4 we purchased our first full blood labrador retriever puppies. We purchased two sisters, Salt and Pepper. Must have been when Blues Clues we popular

About a month later we brought into our family a chocolate lab. This was the beginning of what we do today.

Our biggest hurdles so far was raising up to Bulldog litters when the twins came home from the hospital. Thank God for our Family!!

We started raising Bulldogs of course because we thought it would bring in the bacon and keep us at home It just made sense to raise Bulldogs which were priced 4 times as much as our Labs.

As time goes on we would not part with either breed, not because of the income but for love of the breeds. Our bulldogs do require much more work then our labs, and we often tell people that we raise our Labs to keep our sanity!!

See our Labrador Retriever’s here;

http://lovablelab.com/index.html

See our English Bulldog’s here

http://bulldog-angels.com/

Our ultimate goal with both breeds is to raise happy healthy puppies, that go to the right homes.

As time permits I hope to be able to keep this Blog going and to get some feedback to help others either in the area of caring for and raising puppies or those interested in one of these breeds as a family member.

In the last few years we have also started raising the Mini Labradoodle, we are quite happy with what we have been producing and can see us in the future expanding this breed also. But for now we average one or two litters of the Mini Labradoodles a year.

You can see our Mini Labradoodle puppies here

http://lovablelab.com/doodle/

That is all for now, Beth
